Discussion Topics
Keep these ideas and themes in mind when reading. Or, if you think of any other topics, take note and be ready to join the discussion on Sunday Nov. 2nd!
- The Power of a Legend: What is it about zombies that terrifies us? How have they risen, not only from the dead, but to a recognizable position in our pop culture?
- A Possible Reality:Are there, or have there ever been zombies walking the Earth? What are Voodoo zombies, how do they work, and could they be a threat? Is a zombie virus in the works?
- Voodoo Zombies: How do they work? Where do they come from? Are they a threat?
- Viral Zombies: Is a zombie virus possible? Are there conspiricies to create one?
- Zombies around the world: What other zombies or zombie-like characters exhist in other cultures? Where have these myths originated?
- Comedy and Horror: a match made in heaven. Why do these two genres go hand in hand? How can one be mistaken for the other?

Greetings Strange Readers! Here is your first mission: This Month we will be reading “The Zombie Survival Guide” by Max Brooks.

This guide will answer every question you’ve ever had about zombie outbreaks. You will learn what weapons and methods are best used in anit-zombie combat, or which mode of transportation will help you to escape. It even goes far enough to give tips and advice on rebuilding society. But, most importantly, you will learn about the zombie itself: What is it? How does it function? Where does it come from? The key to survival is to know your enemy!
“The Zombies Survival Guide” Is a collection of priceless wisdom, that you will, hopefully never have to use. BUT, in the event of a zombie epidemic, you will be glad you’ve read it!
